About MCA Program

The 3 years regular and 2 Years (Lateral Entry) MCA program is being offered by Gujarat Technological University, Ahemdabad. During the course a student will study the computer systems and information technology and in-depth knowledge of advanced programming languages, tools and platforms. The Program also imparts the ability to analyze, design, develop and manage software development.

Placement Activities

  • Effective CV Writing Seminar: MCA Placement Corner organized a CV writing seminar for the final year MCA students to develop impressive CV to attract IT industries. Mr Sham H Sachinwala – I/C Principal, SSAIMT conducted the seminar, 120 Students actively participated in this seminar.

  • Group Discussion: GD is important to express our communication skill, our leadership quality, but on considering the company's growth it is more important for us to check the technical & analytic parts, so SSAICS organized a group discussion for our MCA students.

  • Aptitude Test: We conducted the aptitude tests to measure ability across a range of areas including Computer Science,Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning. Which helps the students to easily achieve the first phase of placement.

Industrial Visit (BSNL & BISAG)

MCA department arranged an industrial visit at Regional Telecom Training Centre BSNL, Ahmedabad & BISAG Gandhinagar for their final year MCA students. 103 students and 7 faculties visited the place. The visit arranged for two days and students gathered knowledge about Networking, Broadcasting, and Telecommunication, GSM, and Broadband / Wi-Fi technologies.

GTU Innovation Council

GTU Innovation Council's first objective is to nurture creativity and innovation within the University community; it has been designed to act as a catalyst of change for the whole of the society.The Council targets to create a management system, which uses the existing structures and facilities by bringing them together for working for innovation.The council has decided to document every single success and to make the information available to all the stake-holders to develop self-confidence in the whole of the system.

Eligibility for Admission:

(1) For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall have appeared in the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) as prescribed by AICTE, for the corresponding year.
(2) A candidate shall have passed the qualifying examination with minimum of 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/SEBC category candidates) from-
     (a) a University situated in the Gujarat State; or
     (b) a University situated outside the Gujarat State provided that the candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Standard XII, 10+2 pattern) or its equivalent examination from,-
        (i) the Gujarat Board; or
        (ii) the Central Board of Secondary Education: Provided that,-
          (a) the school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the State of Gujarat; or
          (b) the school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli; or
       (iii) the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi: Provided that,-
          (a) the school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the State of Gujarat; or
          (b) the school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli:
Provided that a candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (Standard XII, 10+2 pattern) or Bachelors’ degree with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects.
(3) Subject to the provisions of sub-rules (1) and (2), a candidate who has passed the qualifying examination in the stream of Bachelor of Computer Application or Bachelor of Science (IT) or Bachelor of Science (Computer) with minimum 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/SEBC category candidates) shall also be eligible to apply for lateral entry admission in the Master of Computer Application (MCA): Provided that a candidate who has appeared in the final year of degree examination shall also be eligible to apply for admission.

Explanation. - 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/SEBC category candidates) shall be computed on the basis of grand total or, cumulative grade point average as shown in the final year mark sheet of the University. In case of grade points, the candidate shall be required to produce equivalence percentage certificate from the University.
