Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) – Program Overview

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 5-year undergraduate program, including a twelve-month compulsory internship, aimed at training students to work as independent physiotherapy professionals. The program is structured under the Faculty of Medicine and adheres to a curriculum designed to foster competence in therapeutic assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of physical dysfunction.

The course focuses on:

• Developing skills in therapeutic exercises and modalities.
• Managing medical and surgical conditions through physiotherapy.
• Encouraging professional values, ethics, research aptitude, and community healthcare involvement.
• Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and lifelong learning in physiotherapy.

Objectives of the Course

• Gain in-depth understanding of basic medical sciences and physiotherapeutic practices.
• Learn to assess and manage a variety of conditions.
• Cultivate research, teaching, counseling, and leadership skills.
• Develop a compassionate and ethical approach toward patient care and community service.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must have completed 17 years of age by December 31 of the admission year.
• NEET COMPULSORY.
• Must present a Medical Fitness Certificate before admission.

Course Duration

• Five years in total, including 12 months of internship.
• The medium of instruction is English.

Attendance & Internal Assessment

• Minimum 75% attendance is required in theory and 85% practical components separately to be eligible for university exams.
• Internal assessment includes performance in exams, attendance, seminars, and other academic contributions, with a minimum of 50% marks required in both theory and practical for eligibility.
