Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy
This is the foundational subject of homeopathy.
Based on the writings of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (founder of homeopathy), especially
his book “Organon of Medicine”.
It deals with the principles, philosophy, and holistic concepts of homeopathic healing.
Focus on vital force, disease causation, cure, and individualization.
Materia Medica
This subject involves the detailed study of homeopathic medicines.
Each remedy is described in terms of its origin, nature, and the symptoms it can cure.
Remedies are studied either through drug proving (testing on healthy individuals) or
clinical usage.
Types include Pure Materia Medica, Comparative Materia Medica, and Applied
Materia Medica.
Repertory
A repertory is an index of symptoms and the remedies associated with them.
This subject trains students to use homeopathic repertories like Kent’s Repertory,
Boenninghausen’s, etc.
It’s a practical tool to find the most suitable remedy for a patient.
Homoeopathic Pharmacy
Focuses on the preparation, potentization, and dispensing of homeopathic medicines.
Covers raw materials (plant, animal, mineral origin), pharmacopoeia, and
standardization.
Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology, and Forensic Medicine
These are the basic medical sciences that homeopathic students must learn.
Provide a strong understanding of the human body, disease processes, and legal
aspects of practice. Help in forming the clinical base necessary for diagnosis and case management.
Practice of Medicine
Involves the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using homeopathic principles.
Covers a wide range of conditions, both acute and chronic.
Surgery and Gynecology & Obstetrics
Though surgery is not performed by Homoeopaths, they study surgical conditions for
diagnosis and referral.
Also includes management of female reproductive health through Homoeopathy.
Community Medicine
Public health, preventive medicine, and the role of Homoeopathy in managing
epidemics and community health
